The latest trends in technology are something everyone has heard about through word of mouth but not a lot of people know all about it. Terms like Artificial intelligence and machine learning sound all fancy in conversation but how many of us know what it actually means? Well, worry no more! By the end of this post you will have hopefully gathered enough general knowledge to sound smarter and make your day to day banter sound more interesting. Apart from flexing in conversations, this blogpost aims at simplifying the daunting aspects of technology to paint a simpler, more easy to understand picture about the ever-changing world of technology around us.
THIS IS TECH FOR DUMMIES.
First up lets see the most recents trends in the tech world today. We have
- Artificial Intelligence
- Machine Learning
- Internet of things
- Data Science/Analytics
- Blockchain
- Virtual Reality
- Augmented Reality
- Robotic Process Automation(RTA)
- Cloud Computing
The best thing about this post is that the once you choose the topic you want to read about, the first line of said article will give you more than enough brief knowledge, in non technical terms, which will simplify the topic to you in minutes. Reading the rest is completely upon on you!
Obviously I don’t guarantee explaining intricacies of the topic but the gist will be more that sufficient to give you an overview.
So lets get started!!
- ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Gist: Technology which makes it seem like machines have human intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is NOT only superhuman robots. The robots are merely a shell containing what’s actually used to power the technology. If you’ve ever browsed through Netflix suggestions or told Alexa to play a song, you’ve probably interacted with AI.
As scary as it sounds it actually isn’t. AI is basically like programming a computer to drive a car by obeying traffic signals and seeing the program learn to show signs of road rage. Fun fact: AI is actually more than half a decade old!
Any development in AI is carried out through trial and error. Its almost like teaching a baby how to function. The program carries out tasks, compares it to the input data and learns accordingly.
So does the crazy growth in AI day by day threatening human jobs? Yes and no. Rather than fighting a human v/s AI battle, let us fight a humans and AI v/s problems battle.
- MACHINE LEARNING

Gist: A division of AI which enhances the program to learn something by trial and error.
Machine Learning refers to the branch of AI that, with the help of certain algorithms, helps the machine in play learn on its own by repeating a set of task/s.
Its very similar to how a person learns from experience. So the program/machine carries out the experiments and compares the results to the data given by the user already and derives a conclusion.
- INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)

GIST: An everyday appliance thats connected to the internet.
To most the Internet of things sounds like a game you would play on your phone right?
Well, in the tech world it is something VERY different. It refers to any physical appliance that is connected to the internet, via WIFI. A smart TV or Refrigerator or even a lightbulb that can be controlled by your phone can fall under IOT. We’ve all wanted that fancy feature of a light switching on and off when you clap you hands or the fan starting at the snap of your fingers. Well IOT makes that possible. And this is no longer a dreamy thing of the future. Pretty cool right?
- ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION

Gist: Making a virtual workforce to get rid of repetitive and boring clerical tasks performed by humans.
It is yet another branch in AI that merges business and artificial intelligence. RPA can be used to automate workflow, infrastructure, back office process which are labor intensive. These software bots can interact with an in-house application, website, user portal, etc. The RPA is a software program which runs on an end user’s pc, laptop or mobile device. It is a sequence of commands which are executed by Bots under some defined set of business rules.

- VIRTUAL REALITY

Gist: Technology that makes you feel you’re physically inside your screen.
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds. By simulating as many senses as possible, such as vision, hearing, touch, even smell, the computer is transformed into a gatekeeper to this artificial world. The only limits to near-real VR experiences are the availability of content and cheap computing power
